tinkering
ok, I'm tinkering with my blog settings to se what the heck happens hehe,. so other than that I am handy man today, I emptied the shop vac. fixed the lawnmower and mowed put the lattice around the porch helped the neigbor's friend with a water pump. prepared for my trip, and just plain ol' acted manly. well thats all for now I'll try to update frequently for my trip.
Its Halloween time
Which means that every retailer has Halloween, thanksgiving and some Christmas stuff up . Not as much as black Friday but still ack. With this in mind I have a few things for my wish list.

my PATA drives are failing slowly but surely, so the best upgrade is to sata drives however my Motherboard cant do sata, and if I have to upgrade a motherboard then I need to upgrade to one that has PCI express for the new video cards then I need a cpu that I can run on it etc... So yes a new box basically but I want to use my old case so neener..
and I need to get the wife shiny things. too many pots&pans, vacuums and other such useful presents I need a shiny present this year.

there's always more I want but I cant remember right now

pay per blog and other such nonsense
ok its a round table tonite, wife is asleep and I am awake, still recovering from the cold and physical fitness test, used my technical expertise to fix the wifes blog for pay per post stuff, I dont post enough. so click on my ads dang you hehe.. well I am looking forward to travel here sooon, mostly cause it helps the pocket book, not looking forward to my pcs, only cause it makes me be away for the holidays. work is pretty boring mostly and I actually had to play sailor dress up today as I had to stand watch, first time in I dunno over a year. so I needed a purdy uniform. well thats all I have for this post..

The incredible shrinking man
ok so its that time of year again, time when little girls put on sweaters, little boys try to get into said sweaters and the Navy runs it's fall PRT.. Physical readiness test. that said the prt is comprised of two parts. one is a physical challenge. ok maybe not much of one, but you have to do some push-ups, sit-ups and run a mile and a half in under an alloted time. the other part is the difficult one.
and that is the BCA or body composition assesment. aka how fat are you. now there is a height/weight chart that if you don't meet then you have to be tape measured. and well this year, I shrunk an inch. which then takes me out of the chart and I have a skinny neck so I end up with a body fat of dun dun dun.. 25% wow 1/4th of my body is fat according to the navy. so maybe with some creative math or a more accurate measure of height. I may end up in standards. stay tuned for more.

laptop follies pt. 2
ok after much configuration and other such nonsense still no luck on the wireless, turns out it appears to be a ranging problem now that one of our neighbors seems to have gotten wireless as well, so I went out and got the matching pcm/cia wireless card that matches our router and holy crap the connection is 2x as good as it was, had some weird indications initally as within sight of the router it was great connection but web and email sucked. then came upstairs out of sight and it works like a champ. maybe too close downstairs hard to say, I might make a docking station for it down stairs and just put it on the hard line when its down there.
